Introducing Marcus Scotney

Marcus is one of the most high profile and recognisable ultra-trail runners in the U.K. He has been running for over 25 years and only entered into the world of ultra distance running in 2008.

His meteoric rise has seen him represent England five times at 100km, once at 50km, representing Great Britain at the 2015 and 2010 100km Championships and the European 100km Championship in 2010 as well as winning a number of high profile trail races in the U.K. and Internationally.

Marcus comes from an orienteering background winning the Avons Schools Orienteering League aged 16 and competing in his first 2 day Mountain Marathon the KIMM back in 1994 with a fractured jaw!

After winning and setting a new course record on his first 100mile race in the Montane Spine Challenger in 2014 Marcus is now looking to step up to longer races as well as regular road, trail and fell races.

Marcus is also a Sports Therapist and Endurance Coach and takes great pride in his client's race achievements, even when they are competing against him. He also works with the team at Nav4 (supported by Montane) providing mountain marathon/trail running and navigation training courses.
