Synergy of science
A perfect synergy of science and practical experience, and the outcome of rigorous testing. Designers worked extensively with Montane high-altitude athletes both in the field and in laboratory conditions, pushing the suit to its limits to ensure its technologies and features were capable of performing to the high standards required.
Testing in the cold chamber
Cold chambers were used extensively in the design of the Apex 8000 Down Suit. Test protocols were created to allow accurate measurements of important metrics such as temperature differentials and relative humidity (RH), allowing our designers to prove empirically that the suits technologies and construction perform to the high standards demanded by our athletes.
