A lightweight pack for fast-paced adventures

The Montane Trailblazer® LT 28L Backpack builds on the innovative COVALENT harness system, with its customisable body-hugging design and accessible pocket configuration used in our market leading Trailblazer packs. The difference here is the construction and fabrication have been completely remastered to weigh an impressively low 300g. Fully taped seams ensure the Trailblazer backpack also provides waterproof protection against changeable conditions. This ultra-light, technical pack has been built especially for active adventures where low weight and speed are paramount.

  • Roll Top Opening

    Fully taped roll top opening, when folded 3 times seals the opening keeping it watertight

  • Chest Straps

    Two off-centre chest harness straps for better weight distribution

  • Pole System

    Underarm pole carry system with top and bottom attachments, ease of access and stability

  • Wrap-around pockets

    Wrap-around wand pockets with security zips for storage and quick accessibility

  • External Storage bungee

    Integrated bungee for external storage or compression, for quick access and extra storage

    Love this pack (and some improvement suggestions)

    This for me is one of the best fast packs I own - ideal for ultralight carries on multi day runs (HRP, GR5 etc). No bounce, very light weight, water proof. Excellent. It’s a 5 star pack / but needs the below adjustments.

    1) I replaced the back tightening cable with something more robust (my one broke)

    2) I replaced the front straps with the montane spare straps so they wouldn’t fall off and get lost

    3) Cut down the excess tightening / fastening straps to lose weight / reduce flapping.

    4) added a small loop to carry an ice axe

    What I would love to see in the future:

    - the above changes as standard

    - small side straps so larger items (poles / foam sleeping mats / carbon tent or tarp pole can be secured in the side pockets at the top.

    - slightly increase the size of the front pockets to hold 500ml water bottles more easily.

    - make sure the keep the weight at this level or less. It is a great Fastpack but the weight makes it the choice. Don’t let this creep up on later versions.

    Exellent bag for trail running

    Top quality bag with a well thought out design, would highly recommend. If I were to make one recommendation (although a small one), it would be to add interchangeable clips to the fastenings at the top of the bag, allowing the bag to also be closed roll-top style if desired by clipping the two edges together. But it's a great piece of kit!
